In today's cities, our everyday lives are increasingly shaped by digital media technologies. The Mobile City is a research group that investigates this new urban condition and its implications for urban design.
Nanna Verhoeff
Nanna Verhoeff is associate professor at the Department for Media and Culture Studies at Utrecht University, The Netherlands. In 2006 she published The West in Early Cinema: After the Beginning (Amsterdam University Press), focusing on the appeal of (virtual) travel in cinema when it was still a new medium. She is currently working on a comparative study of screen media, mobility and spatial practices, ranging from Highway Panorama’s (NAi Publishers, 2007) to mobile game consoles and navigation devices.
